Better Quality of Life Group

About the Group

I am offering a group to help people achieve a better quality of life despite symptoms, including history of trauma, physical pain, anxiety disorders, and depression. This group aims at helping adults (ages 18 and older) start doing things that they find valuable and meaningful. The group uses a gentle, evidence-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach that combines mindfulness and an exploration of values with the support of others.

This is a strengths-focused, ability-positive group focused on exploring what is possible in the present while accepting loss and change. Regardless of pain or loss, a meaningful life is one worth living for. In a small group setting with only 4-8 participants, let's reach together in a fresh direction.

If you are interested, please be aware that Better Quality of Life Group is presently not meeting and may resume in autumn 2022. Please reach out beforehand if you would like to be part of the new cycle so that we can decide together if it would be a good fit.

Getting Started

In order to promote group cohesion and because our learning builds session-to-session, new members will join only on specific dates. The group is affordable, and I accept Medicare as well as private payment. If you are interested in participating, please reach out to me at 917-830-4456. I would be delighted to meet with you for a no-cost assessment of appropriateness for this group.
